Zero-tariff Policy Boosts China-Africa Trade

2026-06-18

Starting from May 1, 2026, China officially implements a full zero-tariff policy for all 53 African diplomatic countries. Among them, 20 least developed African countries will enjoy preferential zero-tariff treatment for two years. The policy covers key categories including complete commercial vehicles, semi-Trailers and core components. The policy bonus creates new opportunities for China-Africa trade. It delivers cost, market and competitive edges to Shodailer Automobile, accelerating its expansion across Africa’s commercial vehicle market.

Although this new zero-tariff policy is a unilateral tax exemption by China for African goods imported into China, it brings both direct and indirect benefits to Shodailer Automobile's exports to Africa. Indirect benefits come from zero tariffs on African minerals, rubber and other auto raw materials shipped to China. It reduces costs for high-strength steel frames, tires, brake assemblies and other key components, bringing down production costs and boosting our price edge in Africa. Meanwhile, African countries gain more foreign exchange earnings from exports to China, which greatly enhances the purchasing power of local enterprises. This creates a larger market for commercial vehicles in strong demand across infrastructure, mining and agriculture sectors.

The direct benefits lie in improved market access and enhanced competitiveness.Under the new zero-tariff policy, local prices of our semi-trailers, speciall vehicles and key parts fall by 25%-33%, offering superior cost performance over European, American and Japanese rivals. Models exported by Shodailer, including fence semi-trailers and flatbed semi-trailers, as well as core components such as axles and air suspensions, are all included in the policy benefit list. They fully meet the demands of Africa's infrastructure,  logistics, mining and other sectors.

Supported by the policy, Shodailer expands steadily in the African market. As  a leading domestic exporter of commercial vehicles, Shodailer Automobile has been actively exploring the global market since 2023. Our products are widely exported to African countries such as Tanzania and Morocco. Adopting Q345 and T700 high-strength steel and built for Africa's harsh road conditions, our vehicles have earned a solid reputation locally.
